Spires Mode Economy Guide:
How to Win the 7-Round Fragment War

By Arkheron Tournament Strategists • Verified from Patch 1.0 • 5 min read

Key 1.0 Economy Rules:

  • • Matches are a "win-by-two" format with an absolute cap of 7 rounds.
  • • Item price escalation is now 25 Fragments (halved from 50).
  • • Deployed objects (walls, turrets) are cleared between every round.
  • • Use the new Random Loadout button if you are pressed for time between rounds.

1. Round 1-2: Establishing Weapon Baseline

In Round 1, both teams spawn with modest starting funds. Do not splurge on expensive consumables immediately. Buy your primary weapon and an initial crown or amulet that complements your squadmates.

2. The 25-Fragment Escalation Advantage

Prior to Early Access 1.0, keeping the same loadout cost an escalating 50 Fragments per round, quickly draining savings. With escalation halved to 25 Fragments, players can hold onto their favorite weapons for 4-5 rounds and invest surplus currency into Tier 2 and Tier 3 stat upgrades at the purple Spires Shrine.

3. When to Buy Anchor Abilities

Anchor abilities like Last Wish and Mending Hands can swing close rounds.

  • Last Wish: Brings you back at 100% Health (up from 50% in test builds). Essential for your squad's primary carry in rounds 4 through 7.
  • Mending Hands: Can be cast as a persistent buff overlay even during hitstun or knocked-down states.

4. The Random Loadout Button

If a round ends in a nail-biting overtime and you have only 5 seconds before the next round begins, click the Random Loadout button at the Spires Shrine. The game algorithm will intelligently purchase the highest-tier gear you can afford, prioritizing matching Eternal pieces over neutral Echo items and auto-filling your consumable slots.
