Boosted Dodge Mastery:
The 13.5 Meter Chained Evade System

By Arkheron Combat Analysts • Verified from Patch 1.0 • 5 min read

The Golden Rule of Evading:

In Arkheron Early Access 1.0, spamming the dodge key wastes precious stamina. Timing your inputs within the designated visual and audio rhythm window expands each successive dodge:

1st Dodge 3.0 Meters
2nd (Boosted) 4.5 Meters
3rd (Max Chain) 6.0 Meters

Chained Total: 13.5m vs Spamming Total: 9.0m (50% greater distance!).

1. How the Timing Window Works

When you initiate a dodge, your character covers an initial 3 meters. Near the end of this animation, a subtle auditory chime and particle distortion envelope your character.

If you press the dodge button again inside this window, the action buffers cleanly and morphs into a Boosted Dodge that travels 4.5 meters. Striking the window a third consecutive time rockets you 6 full meters forward.

2. Stamina Regeneration Rates

In Early Access 1.0, Bonfire Studios buffed the dodge charge regeneration rate:

  • Old Playtest Rate: 1 charge restored every 2.0 seconds.
  • Current 1.0 Rate: 1 charge restored every 1.5 seconds.
  • Recovery Buffering: Dodges transition back into free-aim movement faster without the "sticky end lag" that plagued earlier test builds.

3. Item Interactions & Exceptions

Certain weapons and abilities enhance or alter your dodge trajectory:

  • Penelope's Porcelain Parasol: The integrated Under the Weather ability grants an additional 1-meter slide if you hold a directional movement key.
  • Tsu'bo's Bloodthirsty Dance: Landing critical hits instantly refunds 1 dodge charge, allowing skilled players to sustain near-perpetual chained dashes.
  • Shasur's Flutter Step: While not a dodge, Flutter Step bypasses terrain obstacles and can be chained immediately after a 6m third dodge to cover over 20 meters of ground in an instant.

4. Practice in the Training Grounds

To build the muscle memory for the 13.5m chain, load into the Training Grounds. Practice executing the 3-hit rhythm in the brawling arena until the distinctive audio cue becomes second nature before queuing for high-stakes Spires.
